Influencer posts cost AED 500 to 250,000 in the UAE. Here is the five-step method we use to measure what they return, with a worked example and the formula.
How Long It Takes to Build a Website in Dubai (By Site Type)
Summary:
How long a website takes to build in Dubai: about 3 weeks for a template site, 8 to 12 weeks custom, 3 to 5 months for a store, and what delays each one.
October 22, 2026
A template website takes about three weeks, a custom corporate website eight to twelve, and an online store three to five months. In our experience the biggest delay is never the developer. It is content: logos, product photos and page copy arriving after the design has been signed off. Here is the phase-by-phase timeline we work to in Dubai, where the weeks actually go, and the checklist that gets a site live on the date you first wrote down.
The short answer, by site type
| Site type | Typical duration | Fastest realistic | What stretches it | Client prep that shortens it |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| One-page launch site | 1 to 2 weeks | 5 working days | Copy changes after design | Final copy and logo on day one |
| Template business site (5 to 7 pages) | 3 to 4 weeks | 2 weeks | Late photos, two decision-makers | One approver, images named by page |
| Custom corporate site (8 to 20 pages) | 8 to 12 weeks | 6 weeks | Arabic added late, CRM integration | Translator booked, CRM access ready |
| E-commerce store | 3 to 5 months | 10 weeks | Product data, gateway approval, licence | SKU sheet, licence and bank letter at kick-off |
Those durations are from kick-off to launch, and they assume the content is ready when the project starts. Add two to four weeks to any row where it is not.
The six phases and how long each takes
Discovery and sitemap, 3 to 5 days. What the site is for, who it is for, the page list, the keywords each page should answer, and which competitors to beat. The sitemap is agreed before any design starts.
Design, 1 to 3 weeks. Homepage and one inner page first, two rounds of revisions, then the remaining templates. A template build spends about a week here; a custom build spends three.
Build, 2 to 6 weeks. Theme setup and customisation at the short end, bespoke front end and integrations at the long end. Booking engines, CRM connections and WhatsApp Business each add testing days.
Content, 1 to 4 weeks, in parallel. Copy, photos, videos and Arabic translation. This is the long pole on most projects, which is why it starts at discovery, not after design.
QA and speed, 3 to 7 days. Every page on a phone, forms tested end to end, images compressed, Core Web Vitals checked, 404s and redirects mapped from the old site.
Launch and the two weeks after. DNS change, SSL, Search Console and sitemap submission, analytics events, and a watch on indexing and errors. The project is not finished at the launch email; it is finished when the first fortnight of data looks right.
What delays projects most
Across the sites we build, the order of delays is consistent. Page copy and photos arriving after the design is approved is first by a distance. Approvals spread across several people, or across a head office abroad, come second. Third-party access is third: old hosting logins, domain transfers from a previous freelancer, and payment-gateway approvals that need documents nobody collected at the start.
One pattern we see on store projects in particular: the build is finished in week eight, and the site waits another three weeks for product descriptions and a gateway account. Nothing on the agency side can shorten that wait; only the preparation before day one can.
The five things that delay a website in Dubai
- Page copy and photos arriving after design sign-off, which means redesigning around real content
- Approvals spread across partners or a head office in another time zone
- Arabic translation and right-to-left review added late, which rebuilds every layout
- Domain, hosting or old-site access held by a previous freelancer who no longer replies
- For stores: payment-gateway KYC and the e-commerce licence, which run on the bank's and DET's timelines, not yours
How to finish on time: the before-day-one checklist
A client who arrives with all seven of these typically launches two to three weeks earlier than one who gathers them during the build.
- Brand files in vector format, with the colour codes and fonts
- Copy for every page in one shared document, marked final
- Product photos named by SKU, with prices and stock in a sheet
- Domain registrar and hosting logins, in your company's name
- One named decision-maker with the authority to sign off each phase
- Gateway documents ready: trade licence, bank letter, ID of the signatory
- Arabic translator booked for the week the English copy is final
Rush builds: what two weeks is possible for
A one-page launch site or a five-page template site, yes, if the copy is ready and there is one revision round. A custom site or a store, no, and a two-week custom quote usually leaves out the things that make the site work: speed work, SEO setup, real QA and the Arabic version. Rush work is quoted as a premium on the standard price because it moves other projects; ask for the premium and the exclusions in writing before you accept the date.
If you are weighing the approaches before you fix a date, custom vs template vs builder sets out which build suits which business, and what a website costs in Dubai puts the price bands next to the timelines above. Our website development process follows the six phases exactly as written here, and e-commerce builds add the gateway and licence steps. For what happens after launch, the maintenance page covers the first-fortnight checks and the monthly updates that follow.
FAQ
How long does a five-page website take to build?
A five-page business website on a template takes two to four weeks from kick-off to launch when the copy and images are ready at the start. Design takes about a week, the build another week, and the rest is revisions, speed work and launch checks. Without ready content, add two to three weeks.
How long does an e-commerce website take in the UAE?
Plan for three to five months for an online store in the UAE. The build itself is six to ten weeks; the rest is product data, photography, payment-gateway approval and the e-commerce licence, which can take one to three weeks each and run in parallel only if the paperwork starts at kick-off.
Can a website be built in one week?
A one-page landing site or a simple five-page template site can go live in a week if the copy, logo and images are final on day one and there is a single decision-maker. Anything custom, bilingual or with integrations cannot be done properly in a week, whatever the quote says.
What delays a website project the most?
Content. The most common delay we see is page copy and photos arriving after the design is approved, followed by approvals spread across several people. Third-party access, meaning old hosting logins, domain transfers and payment-gateway approvals, is the third. None of these are technical, and all of them are avoidable with preparation.
How long after launch does a new website start ranking on Google?
Google usually indexes a new site within one to two weeks and ranks it for its own brand name first. Competitive commercial keywords in Dubai take three to six months of content and links. Submitting the sitemap in Search Console and linking the site from your social profiles and directories speeds up the first step.
